Tyler earned his Bachelor of Science in Business with a double major in Accounting and Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, graduating summa cum laude. He holds both the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designations, reflecting his strong technical expertise and commitment to excellence in financial planning and advisory services.

Professional Background

Previously, Tyler obtained his CPA license and began his career at the public accounting firm, KPMG. Tyler then moved to Freddie Mac where he gained greater exposure to financial strategies and forecasting and modeling for the Capital Markets division. Through those work experiences, Tyler realized he wanted to work directly with clients in a front-facing role where he could provide advice and counsel, creating impactful changes for others and their organizations. Tyler now serves McGill and Lyon Dental Advisors clients helping dentists and specialists reach their personal, business, and financial goals faster, with greater ease and peace of mind.

Personal Background

In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and their two young sons, Parker and Landon. They reside in Charlotte, where life these days is filled with the fun (and chaos) that comes with parenting young kids. Heather and Tyler are always on the move, chasing after the boys and shuttling Parker to baseball games and tae kwon do classes, while Landon, though too young for sports himself, is already his brother’s biggest fan from the sidelines. When the rare quiet moment comes around, Tyler enjoys watching sports, working toward becoming a bourbon connoisseur, and firing up the grill for a steak or burger night with family and friends.
